I. Who should be baptized. It is a picture of the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
II. When should you get baptized. Believe in Christ - then get baptized. It is not part of the Gospel.
III. Why should we be baptized. To identify with Jesus and let everyone know that I am with Jesus.

1. Dead ends are God's way of "baiting the hook."

We don't see the hand of God in our lives becasue we never stop long enough to depend on Him.

I. There is no condemnation. If you are saved you are right now washed in the blood of the Lamb.
II. There is no complication. On Sundays it is easy to remember that all things that all things work together for good, but it is also true on Tuesday.
III. We are more than a conqueror. To win and also receive benefits from the victory.
IV. These benefits are only for those who are believers. Turn to God through Jesus Christ and receive the blessings.

I. Divine detours are for our protection. Prove our faith in little things so we are prepared for larger things.
II. Divine detours are for our direction. God will never leave us or forsake us.

Luke 19:29-40
"If a Donkey Can do it, so Can I"
God needs us, wants us, will take us, and will use us.
I. The donkey had to be bought. Exodus 13:13 1 Corinthians 6:20 The blood of Jesus Christ paid the price for my salvation from sin.
II. The donkey had to be brought. None of us got saved of ourselves.
III. The donkey had to be loosed. Ephesians 2:1 We had to be untied from the world, we can't have 2 masters, we have to be broken, we have to surrender to the will of the Master.

"Spare Tire Religion"
I. A spare tire is usually the worst tire. Can't handle everyday life.
II. A spare tire is used only in an emergency. Only pray in crisis?
III. A spare tire is put on "at will". Need daily relationship with Jesus.
IV. A spare tire can be removed "at will". Church only doesn't make you right with God.
V. A spare tire looks good but can't handle the heat. Life needs God.
VI. A spare tire is not dependable. My hope is Christ the Foundation.
Look good but don't live good.

"Unto the Furtherance of the Gospel"
1. Trials can further the Gospel.
2. Trials can give time for more prayer.
3. Trials can reach people we wouldn't reach otherwise.
4. Trials can make people more bold.
For I know that this shall turn to my salvation through your prayer, and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ, Philippians 1:19

I. I am glad there is a Lord.

v12 - Persecution will be part of the life of Christians.
vv27,28 - Rapture is when we meet Him in the air. Second coming is when He comes to the earth to reign.
vv34-36 - Take heed not to be overtaken with the cares of this world.
Mark 13:33 Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is.

I. America has a great Christian heritage. All men are CREATED equal.
II. God has blessed America beyond other nations. Psalm 103:1,2 Some rich in other countries have less than some of the poor in America.
III. America is now drifting away from God. Even churches and Christian schools. Sin is being legalized.
IV. America, prepare to meet th God! Amos 4:12 The key is for you to get right and live the life.
The real problem isn't the White House or the State House, it is those who are not in God's house.

"Four Steps of a Godly Walk"
I. (v2) The step of humility. We think God owes us something. We trust God even in the difficulties of our life.
II. (v3,11,12) The step of harmony. There are some frivolous issues in the life of the church that don't need to split the church.
III. (v17-19) The step of holiness. We need to have a desire to be more like Christ today than we were yesterday.
IV. (v12) The step of hope. We are not what we one day will be. I Corinthians 15:51-58

"Powerful Prayer"
I. Prayer is activated by faith. It is not enough just to pray, but to pray believing.
II. Prayer is accelerated by faithfulness. The more we are faithful in the little things the more it pleases Him to give us what we are asking for.
III. Prayer is accompanied by praise. Paul and Silas were in prison and they found something to praise God for.

I. v3 The few are always present. You've received the Word.
II. v4 The few are few. Not everybody is listening for God.

III. What happens when we don't "hold fast"?
You will lose your joy, your testimony, your family, the strength of your church.

I. Revival depends on us.
A. Humble ourselves.

II. We must, by faith, accept revival. Joshua 14:6-14. Caleb wholly followed the Lord God of Israel and defeated giants. We must also defeat giants: prayerlessness, laziness, unbelief, unforgiving spirit.
Alabama needs revival. Let that spark begin with us.

I. Successful prayer involves seeking. Searching for God with your whole heart and not just when convenient.
II. Successful prayer involves honesty. James 5:16 Our prayers can't be successful if we go to God thinking we deserve something.
III. Successful prayer involves obedience. I John 3:22 If you are willfully sinning you have no guarantee God will answer your prayers.
The changes come about if our prayers work.

i. Some got upset because they owned the hogs. Will you get rid of your sin?

IV. Some got upset because they liked ham for breakfast. Will you miss the sinful behavior?
V. Some got upset because they lived in a free country and they should be able to do as they please. Will you get on God's side?
When revival comes it may cost us something.

I. We need a revival of believing. Do you really believe that God can still save sinners?

IV. We need a revival of giving. Luke 6:38 Money, talents, time.

B. The cause of the condition - laziness.

C. The consequence of laziness - poverty.

I. This man glorified God because of His power and forgiveness. Man can do a lot, but has never figured out how to get rid of sin without the shed blood of Jesus Christ.

III. How is Heaven 'happified'? Luke15:10 Tell someone about Jesus. Believe on Jesus Christ.

B. The second hindrance is "weights". Slow you down - things that hurt your testimony.

4. v.2 Stay in the service of the Lord. Continually doing right leaves little time to do wrong.
5. v.5 Stay accountable. In the end God is our Judge and what He thinks matters.
