I. (v2) The step of humility. We think God owes us something. We trust God even in the difficulties of our life.

III. (v17-19) The step of holiness. We need to have a desire to be more like Christ today than we were yesterday.
IV. (v12) The step of hope. We are not what we one day will be. I Corinthians 15:51-58

I. Successful prayer involves seeking. Searching for God with your whole heart and not just when convenient.

B. The cause of the condition - laziness.

I. This man glorified God because of His power and forgiveness. Man can do a lot, but has never figured out how to get rid of sin without the shed blood of Jesus Christ.
II. How can I, or anyone, horrify Hell? Let God use you in a special and supernatural way.

1. There are two motivations for running the race.
A. So great salvation. Hebrews 2:3.
a. Our great Savior.
b. His great sacrifice.
B. So great a cloud of witnesses. Hebrews 11.
II. There are two hindrances to running the race.
A. The first hindrance is sin.
B. The second hindrance is "weights". Slow you down - things that hurt your testimony.
You can't quit. Can't throw in the towel. Keep running anyhow.

1. v.4 Stay focused on the truth. Thy Word is Truth.
2. v.6 Stay ready. Live life as if this is your last opportunity to get right with God.
3. v.3 Stay away from distractions. Be careful what you listen to, look at, etc.
4. v.2 Stay in the service of the Lord. Continually doing right leaves little time to do wrong.
5. v.5 Stay accountable. In the end God is our Judge and what He thinks matters.

I. Three things we should understand about valleys.
A. We will all go through valleys.

C. Valleys are a place of spiritual blessing and growth.

1. Finishing strong pleases God. John 8:29 Jesus came to please the Father; you can live your life to please the Father, too.
2. We ought to finish strong because it encourages those around us. Romans 14:19. Unfaithfulness never blessed anyone - find ways to encourage people in your church family.
3. Finishing strong develops us spiritually. 1 Peter 4:12-14. Be satisfied to be worthy of suffering for Christ.
What we are about to do in life is more important than what we have already done.

A. ...to effective use of gifts.

v7 - Lost people don't know how to love.
v8 - God = love, God IS love.
v9 - God showed love in Jesus.
v10 - God hates my sin, your sin, all sin.
v11 - God loved us while we were still sinners so we ought to love one another including other sinners so those sinners will be saved.
We say we love our fellow man but don't hate sin.

I. Christ challenges our love. If we love Him we will love HIs sheep and keep His commandments. No qualifications required.
II. Christ claims our life. It will be difficult to follow God. Glorify Him in whatever circumstances you find yourself.
III. Christ commands our loyalty. YOU follow ME. Be faithful regardless of what others do.
Our love for Christ ought to be the motivation for all we do.

The church is the bride of Christ. You can't love Jesus without loving the church.

a. We are made in God's image, but animals are not.

b. Jesus has sacrificed, bled, died, and rose again - finished and complete.
c. Presently the missing part is Christians taking His message to the world.
d. People absent at services are the missing part for the church.
3. If you are not saved, then you have the missing part of Jesus from your life. Turn to Him today.

1. v1 - God has always had a man in charge and for the local church that is the pastor.
2. v8 - God's people must learn to follow God's man.
3. v2 -Every family must get involved doing something. Find what God would have you do.
4. v4 - Every worker was prepared - Sunday School, prayer, obedience to God's leading.
5. v5 - The work must be distributed evenly. God has you here for a reason.

1. God can still save America. What's wrong with America is God's people.
2. God can still revive a dead church. No matter how cold or dead.
3. God can still supply our needs. According to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.
4. God can still forgive our sins. I John 1:9 - If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
5. God can still save sinners. The same God who parted the Red Sea still has the power to save sinners today.

2. Every problem is not a result of your sin or Satan's power, but an opportunity for you to glorify God.
3. Even faithful Christians don't always know what God is doing.

It doesn't matter what happened in 2025, even now God can fix it and God can bless you.
